The troubled pop star arrived Down Under last week (ends28Jun15), and the reason for his visit has now been confirmed after bosses of the Hillsong Conference unveiled him as a "delegate".

Bieber is reportedly joining the five-day Pentecostal church event at Sydney's Allphones Arena to support his longtime pastor Carl Lentz, who has been helping the singer turn his life around following a series of arrests and nightclub scuffles, plus convictions for vandalism, careless driving and resisting arrest.

A statement from the Hillsong church reads, "People come from across the world to Sydney each year to attend Hillsong conference. Justin is here - like tens of thousands of others - as a delegate who is seeking to build stronger foundations into his life. He is not participating in the conference in any other capacity. Out of respect for his privacy we will not be making further comments."
