Justin Bieber has officially been charged with spray-painting a wall in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

After a three -day investigation by local authorities the 19 year-old was charged with vandalism as spray-painting graffiti is illegal in Brazil.

The evidence was weighing heavily against Bieber as a major Brazilian news outlet published photos of the Canadian caught in the act.

What will the 'Love Me' singer's punishment be?

According to local authorities Bieber will be fined for "tagging or otherwise defiling a building or urban monument."

The incident took place on Nov 6th, on wall of the closed Hotel Nacional.

It will take a judge up to 30 days to look over all the evidence collected to figure out how much the appropriate fine will be.

According to E!News, Bieber's security apparently told the authorities that he was given permission by Rio's city hall to spray paint another building but they felt it wasn't safe enough for him, so his team decided on a new location, assuming the wall was part of an abandoned building.

Bieber isn't making any effort to keep the matter private as he has plastered his Instagram page with pics of his latest art work, a caption with one of the photos read, "Every place I have tagged has been approved I do not suggest tagging private property," he wrote on Wednesday, accompanied by a photo of him in front of his artwork. "I still suck but i have fun doing it ;)".

Bieber's visit to Brazil was part of his 'Believe' world tour which he is currently on. It is in support for the 'Baby' singer's latest studio album 'Believe'.
