Justin Bieber managed to greet his fans despite causing a "possible riot situation" in Liverpool.

The 'Baby' singer's hotel in the English city was surrounded by hordes of screaming fans by 6pm this evening (10.03.11).

This prompted the police to warn him not to approach his balcony at The The Hard Days Night Hotel to greet them as he could face arrest if it caused a riot.

He tweeted: "i cant even say hi to my fans outside cuz of the police. some bull. Trying to work it out so i can say whatup to my fans (sic)."

Half an hour later, however, his team had managed to negotiate the situation and Justin spoke to the screaming hordes outside.

He then tweeted: "I LOVE YOU GUYS!! that was great! got to say hi to everyone. we are following the rules. lol. #LOVEMYFANS (sic)"

Liverpool- famous as the birthplace of The Beatles, the original pop band to be greeted by screaming teenage fans, said to be struck down with 'Beatlemania' - had been brought to a standstill by the 'U Smile' hitmaker's fans, who reacted with great excitement to his message.

Bieber fanatic Bonksballerina tweeted: "justinbieber loves his fans more and mire each day. They support him through life so he truly loves them back xx :) (sic)."

Justin is scheduled to play in the city's ECHO arena tomorrow night (10.03.11).
