After first suggesting that his singing career was drawing to an end on 17 December following an appearance on a Los Angeles radio show, Justin Bieber confirmed his retirement plans again by stating on Twitter that he really is retiring. Just hours after his 'official retirement' announcement, Justin released a number of new tracks on to his Instagram page, calling them "Christmas present for #beliebers."

'Confident' and 'Swap It Out' are among the new releases teased by Bieber on his Instagram page, each one filmed in his home to an audience of none, with the camera held away from Justin, either showing his blinds or the floor. The songs aren't exactly 'new' music per se, with each of the songs appearing on his new, and apparently last album Complete My Journals. It might not mean anything, but to us these videos hint that Justin isn't done with music at all, as he won't be able to stay away from it for too long.

On Christmas Eve Justin announced his retirement via his Twitter account, writing "My beloved beliebers I'm officially retiring," followed by a further two tweets explaining his decision to leave it all behind. He wrote: "The media talks a lot about me. They make a up a lot of lies and want me to fail but I'm never leaving you, being a belieber is a lifestyle," concluding, "Be kind loving to each other, forgive each other as god forgave us through Christ Merry Christmas IM HERE FOREVER."

Has he really finished with music for good?

Since he first announced his retirement, Justin's manager Scooter Braun has been trying his best to play down the announcement and said instead that Justin will be having a quiet 2014, rather than actually hanging up his mic for good.

In addition to the new album and these few exclusive performances, Justin also has a new movie out: Believe. The film is in cinemas now and already inspiring Beliebers across the globe.

You can check out all of the performances from Justin via his Instagram page.
