Justin Bieber is going to have to flash some serious cash on the mother of all PR strategies if he ever wants to rebuild his squeaky clean popstar image in America...that or, y'know, actually be a nice guy for a while. At this disastrous stage of media discord that's unlikely.

19 year-old Bieber has had a rocky year, to put it mildly, having seemingly set out to prove that he's no longer a child and can do whatever he wants, when he wants, to whoever he wants. Naturally, this mindset has gotten lil Biebs, who's only heard "yes" all his life, into a fair bit of trouble but nothing so serious as the mess he's in now, after having been seen drag racing, under the influence, with an expired licence and resisting arrest in Miami. Justin was bailed after the Florida drive-drive arrest after a brief court appearance.

Last week, drugs were found at the star's home in Los Angeles after it was searched by police following allegations he had thrown eggs at his neighbour's house. Bieber was accused of causing significant damage to the property and Lil Za, a member of his entourage was arrested for alleged drug possession.

Justin Bieber Petition

The latest news reports state that Justin Bieber visited a Toronto Police station Wednesday night to be booked for criminal assault charges for allegedly attacking a limo driver last month. Justin was supposed to show up for questioning on the 29th December but when he failed to, he became a prime suspect in a case that saw the driver struck several times on the head when he was transporting Bieber and his entourage.

Over 200,000 Americans signed a petition to have the young singer deported back to Canada, where he officially holds citizenship. Though US government protocol states that any petition that garners 100,000 signatures within 30 days will receive an official government response, something that the petition supporters are still waiting for.

"We would like to see the dangerous, reckless, destructive, and drug abusing, Justin Bieber deported and his green card revoked," the petition said. "He is not only threatening the safety of our people but he is also a terrible influence on our nations youth. We the people would like to remove Justin Bieber from our society."

"Every petition that crosses the threshold will be reviewed by the appropriate staff and receive a response," a White House spokesman said, via TIME. "Response times vary based on total volume of petitions, subject matter, and a variety of other factors.

Bieber will appear in court on 14 February to face charges of driving under the influence, resisting arrest and getting behind the wheel with an expired licence.
