Justin Bieber, the 17-year-old Canadian pop sensation, has taken to his Twitter page to describe yesterday's events in New York as "wild". Justin Bieber was tackled to the ground by an undercover police officer while promoting his new perfume 'Someday' at MACy's in Manhattan, reports ABC News.
Bieber had stepped outside the store to meet thousands of waiting fans, when one individual jumped the barrier and tackled the 17-year-old to the ground. As the singer' security staff pounced on who they assumed was a crazed fan, Bieber managed to be escorted back inside the department store. The singer's spokesperson later confirmed the 'attacker' was simply an undercover police officer attempting to protect Justin from the over-excited crowd. The singer still appeared visibly shaken as he posed for photographs with fans inside the store and in a Twitter post noted, "New York. Wild Day", before adding, "ilovemyfans and for those i didnt get to see today....thank u for your love and support". Despite the incident, the 'Baby' hit-maker later attended the premiere of his girlfriend Selena Gomez's new movie 'Monte Carlo'.
It was announced on Wednesday that Justin Bieber would be appearing at this week's Bet Awards in Los Angeles. The singer will be joining the likes of Queen Latifah, Bruno Mars, Gladys Knight and NICKI MINAJ.
