Justin Bieber's pal Lil Za's felony drug possession charge has been reduced to a misdemeanour after he successfully held up his end of a plea deal.

The aspiring rapper was arrested at the Baby hitmaker's California home during a police raid in January (14), when he was found in possession of ecstasy and painkiller Oxycodone, and he was slapped with an additional vandalism count hours later after breaking a telephone at the Los Angeles County Sheriff's jail, where he was being held before posting bail.

He managed to reach a plea deal with prosecutors in April (14) to downgrade the drug case in exchange for three years of probation, a community service sentence and the completion of an outpatient drug treatment programme.

He was also ordered to pay $7,000 (£4,375) in restitution and fines, including $600 (£375) to cover the cost of the broken phone.

He has since fulfilled his obligations and even won the praise of the judge overseeing the case, who commended him for his efforts to make amends.

As a result, his felony drug charge has been officially reclassified as a misdemeanour, according to Tmz.com.

Bieber's house was targeted by cops as part of their investigation into an egging incident involving the pop superstar earlier this year (14). He pleaded no contest to a misdemeanour vandalism charge and was sentenced to five days of community service and 12 weeks of anger management counselling, in addition to paying over $80,900 (£50,000) in restitution.

The singer has since moved out of the gated community in Calabasas, California, where he clashed with neighbours.
