Wireless promises some massive names this year, along with local talent.
London’s Wireless Festival has always been a cross-genre affair, uniting the biggest musical acts of the day and this year is no different. Tonight (July 12) Justin Timberlake will take the festival’s one of the stages at the festival’s brand new home at the Olympic site (Wireless has been held in Hyde Park for the past eight years.) The pop icon will no doubt bring the house down with the soulful, but sharp brand of R’n B he unleashed with The 20/20 Experience.
Tonight, Justin will headline the London festival.
Timberlake will be well supported by other massive acts tonight, including Snoop Dogg, Trey Songz and Frank Ocean, while dubstep producer Sub Focus will bring a different sound into the mix. Tomorrow night at wireless will see Jay Z as the headlining act. The rapper is flying in fresh off the release of his Magna Carta Holy Grail, and will no doubt grace the crowd with electrified performances of some of the instant classics of the album. Mr Carter, who already has lots of experience with festivals, will no doubt know how to work the crowd at Wireless.
Tomorrow is Jay Z's turn.
He will be backed by Emeli Sandé, Rita Ora and Kendrick Lamar, while Calvin Harris will bring the energetic dance vibes. Sunday marks the culmination of the festival, as Timberlake and Jay Z take the stage together from 7.45PM. Obviously, the collaboration is a big deal. While JT is featured on a few songs on Magna Carta, the shared gig brings the promise of even more collaborations, performed for the first time at the festival.
