Oh boy, oh boy, Justin Timberlake is making new music again. Well, not really, but he’ll be releasing some anyway. The singer’s Take Back The Night single, which dropped earlier this week, isn’t just a callback to Thriller era Michael Jackson – though it certainly is that too – it is also a teaser for more upcoming music from Timberlake. And really, what could be better than that – aside from universal peace and harmony and chocolate cake of course.

No rest for the wicked, or in this case, the phenomenally successful.

The album will be a sequel to The 20/20 Experience, quite creatively titled The 20/20 Experience Part 2. It makes perfect sense for Timberlake to go in that direction, of course, and right on the heels of his March release. After all, the original 20/20 was the first (and so far only) release this year to pass the 2 million sales mark and Take Back The Night is quickly gaining similar fan approval.

The new album won’t really be a significant departure from 20/20 though, more a compilation of the better tracks, which, for one reason or another, didn’t make the original cut. Once again, in Take Back The Night, Timberlake employs the services of longtime co-conspirator Timbaland, and it’s safe to predict that he will feature heavily in the fall release as well. In the mean time, Justin is scheduled to perform two gigs at Yankee Stadium alongside Jay-Z on July 19 and 20.

20/20 Part 2 will feature tracks, written at the same time as the original.
