The rumour mill has been churning away ferociously lately, as it seems to be high-wedding-season for celebrities. The latest newly-weds are Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel who married on the sly in Italy today (19th Oct 2012). The couple have been together for five years, and have enjoyed a ten month engagement.
In a statement to People Magazine today, the couple said "It's great to be married, the ceremony was beautiful and it was so special to be surrounded by our family and friends." The couple enjoyed three days of celebrations, which began on Wednesday at a beach party that included fireworks and live music, according to NY Daily News. On Thursday they hosted another party which included anti-pasti and open fires. Both Biel and Timberlake have been vague yet honest about the lead up to their wedding and their feelings about marriage itself. Quoted on USAToday Timberlake said "I think it's important to remember that you go into something like marriage knowing that you don't know very much about it at all" but says he takes the lead from his mum and step dad, who he says are a 'team'.
The wedding was awash with security, and reportedly guests were, according to E!, required to sign a nondisclosure agreement to protect the privacy of the nuptials. Speaking of guests the whole affair was completely star-studded, and Jimmy Fallon, Timbaland, Andy Samberg and Beverly Mitchell, plus some old friends attended.
Both Timberlake and Biel have a long history of Hollywood dating, with Timberlake famously dating Britney Spears for many years, as well as a highly publicised relationship with Cameron Diaz. Biel has dated Ryan Reynolds. Perhaps this will be where their dating ends and a lifelong happy marriage begins. Timberlake said "She's a really, really, really special person", let's hope that feeling will last.
