Kacey Musgraves wants to be a megastar like Dolly Parton.
The 23-year old country singer says the iconic '9 to 5' hitmaker is her idol and inspired her to reach the top of the US album charts.
The Texan star said: ''I think she's a great storyteller with her lyrics. She's a pretty face but she's also intelligent and witty... she's definitely someone I look up to.''
Kacey gained recognition in the UK and across Europe after the release of her debut album 'Same Trailer Different Park' and has been overwhelmed by the response so far.
She added: ''You work and work and work and only a few people know who you are, then suddenly something happens and it spreads and the outside world gets to know who you are.
''I've been toiling away for a while but this new success is amazing.''
The US songstress is due to perform in the UK and parts of Europe this October, following a span of tour dates across the states, supporting fellow countryman Kenny Chesney.
She added: ''I'm really looking forward to it. My year is all planned out but I'd rather have that, than not be working.''
Kacey's debut album 'Same Trailer Different Park' is out now.
Kacey Musgraves UK tour dates 2013:
Oct 09 - Glasgow, Oran Mor
Oct 10 - Manchester, Academy
Oct 11 - Dublin, Whelans
