The Kaiser Chiefs recently visited a music therapy centre in Newcastle that is set up to help children in need.

The 'Ruby' hitmakers recently took a trip to the city, which saw band mebers Ricky Wilson and Nick Baines dress up as workmen to mark the formal opening of the Nordoff Robins Music Therapy Centre, which is set to open in March 2019, the Chroniclelive.co.uk reported.

The centre has received backing from businessman Graham Wylie, as well as Nordoff Robbins charity, which the band have worked closely with for a ''long, long time''.

The former 'The Voice' judge said: ''We've been involved with Nordoff Robins for a long, long time now because of what they do with the music industry. Peanut has been running the Great North Run for a few years to raise money for it, and we do a lot of things with music therapy.''

And Ricky has urged the public to play their part and help charities too.

He added: ''If you can do something, you should do something. It's really simple if you want to know why music is important, just look at the people going to work with their headphones in - that can change people's lives, so at this level, it's a centre completely focused on getting people better.''
