After what’s sure to have been a difficult few months, Kaley Cuoco enjoyed ‘the best birthday ever’, when she turned 30 on Monday. The actress separated from husband Ryan Sweeting back in September, but says she’s now looking forward to the future with the knowledge there’s nothing she can't handle.

Cuoco began her birthday celebrations on Sunday with friends at an animal sanctuary run by the Black Jaguar White Tiger foundation. She then took a trip to the Teotihuacan pyramids, just north of Mexico City. Cuoco jointly celebrated her big day with younger sister Briana whose birthday falls just one day before hers.

In September Cuoco announced the end of her marriage to tennis player Ryan Sweeting, just 21 months after they tied the knot. Announcing the split, a rep for the actress told US Weekly: "Kaley Cuoco and Ryan Sweeting have mutually decided to end their marriage. They ask for privacy at this time. No further statement will be issued regarding this matter.”

Last month the actress revealed that she had covered up the tattoo on the back of her neck commemorating the couple’s marriage. Cuoco had a set of Roman numerals reading 12-31-13 (her wedding date) tattooed soon after the nuptials, now she sports a large moth where the wedding ink used to be.
