Kanye West has left the media and his fans totally baffled by his behaviour over the past few weeks. His tirades on Twitter appear to be never ending, boasting about his wealth and talent, and lamenting his financial issues and the negativity directed at him. But why is the rapper in such a crazy mood at the moment?

Kanye WestPutting on a brave face?

We learned on Sunday (February 14th 2016) that West was currently $53 million in debt - according to him anyway. It led to him begging Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg to invest $1 billion into his work, a plea that has unsurprisingly fallen on deaf ears given that his net worth was estimated at $145 million last year. But he claims that he needs his own money for his family, and can't afford to invest in his own business ventures anymore. 'If I spent my money on my ideas I could not afford to take care of my family. I am in a place that so many artist end up', he told his Twitter followers, also posting that people have taken advantage of his alleged financial troubles. 'For the past 3 years people who knew about the debt tried to use it against me in negotiations', he claimed.

The majority of the world has had little sympathy, however, given that he's also been boasting at ridiculous levels. There's being smug, and then there's saying things like 'I will have over 100 Grammys before I die' and 'I can buy furs and houses for my family'. But there are those concerned about his welfare. A GoFundMe page was set up to raise $53 million to get him out of debt, though less than $3,500 has been raised so far. 'We must open our hearts and wallets for Kanye today', the page read. 'Great artists need to be supported financially to achieve their full potential.'

But why is he in so much debt in the first place? It turns out his fashion ambitions have had a lot to with it. Launching fashion lines costs a lot to get started and is notoriously difficult to profit from. West has already failed with two fashion lines, and G.O.O.D. merchandise and Nike Air Yeezy only proved to further his debt crisis. And while his deal with Adidas was a little more successful, again he had to dig deeper into his pockets to get his work off the ground.

Somehow, his alleged rant backstage at SNL seems a lot more justified now. An audio recording of the incident was recently unveiled on Page Six where a man's voice (that sounded like West's) was heard complaining about a stage being taken apart, branding Taylor Swift a 'fake a**' and claiming to be more influential than Pablo Picasso. Hmm... we'd be very surprised if that wasn't West talking. 'Look at that sh*t, they took my f***ing stage off of SNL without asking me. Now I'm bummed', he can be heard saying. 'That and Taylor Swift, fake a**. Now I ain't gonna do this, we're breaking the motherf***ing internet. I went through six years of this f***ing sh*t. Let's get to it, bro.

'Are they f***ing crazy? Bro! By 50 percent. Stanley Kubrick, Apostle Paul, Picasso... f***ing Picasso and Escobar. By 50 percent more influential than any other human being. Don't f*** with me! By 50 percent, dead or alive, by 50 percent for the next thousand years.'

So, his fashion empire is falling apart, as did his stage on SNL and his relationship with Taylor Swift. But you know what? He's still very much aware of where all his supposed problems stem from according to his latest Twitter post. 'My number one enemy has been my ego. There is only one throne and that's God's.'
