The Weeknd closed Saturday night’s festivities, following Jack White’s headlining set.
Kanye West made a surprise appearance during The Weeknd’s Saturday night set at Coachella, helping singer Abel Tesfaye cover the rapper’s hit ‘Heartless’. The festival, which is known for always coming through with surprise performances, ends its two weekend run this Sunday with Drake closing the festivities with a headlining set.
Kanye gave the Coachella crowd a treat on Saturday night when he performed with The Weeknd.
West had been rumoured to be making a surprise appearance during Drake’s set, but it appears the Yezzus rapper just couldn’t wait to surprise the Coachella crowd. Joining Tesfaye as he delivered a cappella cover of the rapper’s hit, West then launched into his own four song set.

West performed latest single ‘All Day’, ‘Can’t Tell Me Nothing’ and ‘Black Skinhead’ from his album Yezzus as well as a cover of Chief Keef’s ‘I Don’t Like’. The last time the rapper performed at the desert festival was back in 2011, when he delivered a show-stealing headlining set.
The festival appearance marked Kanye’s second surprise gig of the week, as last Sunday night he delivered a free concert at Swan Lake in Yerevan, Armenia, during his visit to the country with wife Kim Kardashian. But the gig ended up being cut short after the rapper jumped into a lake while performing ‘Good Life’, prompting dozens of fans to leap in after him and try to grab a selfie with the star.
Elsewhere at Coachella on Saturday, Jack White performed a storming heading set, which will be his last big live performance for quite some time. The singer announced last week he’d be taking a break from live performing following a series of acoustic dates in the US.

Towards the end of his headline set White told the crowd, "This is my last electric show I'm going to play in a long while.” Dates for Whites acoustic shows have not yet been announced and will instead be revealed 8am on the day of each show, with tickets being sold on the door at each venue priced at $3.
