New reports suggest that Kanye's previously Tidal-only album will be available on Spotify, Apple Music and Google Play on Friday.
After making endless revisions to the production and tracklisting, and saying on one occasion that it would “never” be for sale, Kanye West’s recent album The Life of Pablo may finally be heading to streaming sites other than Tidal, according to new reports.
The 38 year old rapper had previously made his long-awaited seventh studio album available solely on the subscription-only platform Tidal, purchased and launched by Jay-Z. The record was released back on February 11th, the same evening that Kanye debuted it in full at his 'Yeezy Season 3' fashion show in Madison Square Garden.
Is 'The Life of Pablo' finally coming to non-Tidal streaming services?
Since then, Kanye claims the record was streamed more than 250 million times in one 10-day stretch – although reports surfaced soon after the release that it had been pirated and illegally downloaded over 500,000 times, losing the artist a serious amount of potential lost revenue in the process.
However, the tracks ‘I Love Kanye’ and ‘Famous’ have recently been made available on other sites than Tidal, and a new report by Mashable suggests that the whole of The Life of Pablo – which Kanye updated yet again earlier this week – will finally be available on Spotify, Apple Music and Google Play as of Friday (April 1st).

Some commentators have suggested that the news is an April Fool’s hoax, given the supposed release date.
Meanwhile, Pitchfork reported recently that The Life of Pablo was available to download for users who had previously purchased it through the streaming site. There’s still no details on any potential physical release date for the album, partially because Kanye hasn’t yet confirmed it’s finished.
Kanye is also rumoured to be busy working on another album due for release before the end of 2016, with the working title of Turbo Grafx 16 and said to feature collaborations with Big Sean and Tyler, The Creator.
