Kanye West brought us all the way back on 2009 on Saturday (April 23rd) when he parodied his infamous moment with Taylor Swift at the 2009 MTV VMAs. West was attending the wedding of friends David Grutman and Isabela Rangel in Miami, when he decided to take the mic from fellow guest, DuJour magazine founder Jason Binn.

In a video posted to Instagram by Grutman, West is seen taking the microphone from Binn, who was giving his best wishes to the couple, and saying: "I'mma let you finish. Dave and Isabela had one of the best weddings of all time.”

Back in 2009 West’s interruption of Taylor Swift became a viral sensation and seven years later it’s still just as memorable. It happened when Swift was collecting her award for Best Female Video for ‘You Belong With Me’, beating Beyoncé’s ‘Single Ladies’.

As Swift went to begin her acceptance speech, West rushed the stage and proclaimed: “Yo Taylor, I'm really happy for you, I'll let you finish, but Beyoncé has one of the best videos of all time. One of the best videos of all time!”

The infamous moment was brought up again earlier this year when West released new album The Life of Pablo, where he rapped: ‘I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex / Why? I made that b---h famous,’ on track ‘Famous’.

West’s lyrics caused a backlash on twitter and Swift’s rep later denied that the singer had given him permission to reference her on the song. Then at the Grammy Awards in February, Swift appeared to throw some shade at West during her Album of the Year acceptance speech.

"I want to say to all the young woman out there: There will be people along the way who will try to undercut your success or take credit for your accomplishments, your fame,” Swift said. “But if you just focus on the work and you don't let those people sidetrack you, someday when you get to where you're going, you'll look around and you will know it was you.”
