THE BLING RING, produced by American Zoetrope and NALA Films and distributed by A24, will showcase at the Cannes Film Festival in France on May 16th, with a U.S. theatrical roll out to begin on June 14th.  Three days prior, on June 11th , Def Jam Recordings will release THE BLING RING, a soundtrack comprised of hip-hop, Kraut-rock and electronica that is every bit as eclectic and varied as the 'Bling Ring' crew themselves.  The soundtrack will feature KANYE WEST, FRANK OCEAN, 2 CHAINZ, RICK ROSS, PHOENIX, SLEIGH BELLS, M.I.A., AZEALIA BANKS, DEADMAU5, CAN, KLAUS SCHULTZE, ONEOHTRIX POINT NEVER, and much more.

The executive soundtrack producer and music supervisor of THE BLING RING is Brian Reitzell, who also scored the film with Daniel Lopatin (Oneohtrix Point Never).  Reitzell has credits as a producer, composer, arranger, and musician on over 130 albums.  This is his fourth film with Sofia Coppola, following Marie Antoinette, Lost In Translation, and The Virgin Suicides.  Other movie soundtrack credits for Reitzell include Red Faction Armageddon,30 Days of Night, Stranger Than Fiction, Thumbsucker, and Friday Night Lights.

THE BLING RING reflects on the naivet' of youth and the mistakes people make when they are young.  Amplified by today's culture of celebrity and luxury brand obsession, the film views temptations through the members of the 'Bling Ring' that almost any teenager would feel.  What starts out as teenage fun spins out of control and leaves behind a sobering view of our culture today.  The movie is based on the celebrated Vanity Fair article "The Suspects Wore Louboutins" by journalist Nancy Jo Sales.  In spring 2013, HarperCollins will publish her novelization, THE BLING RING: How A Gang of Fame-Obsessed Teens Ripped Off Hollywood and Shocked The World.
