Tickets to Kate Bush's first run of gigs since 1979 were the most sought-after of 2014, according to a new poll.

The Wuthering Heights singer's 22-night residency in London earlier this year (14) sold out in just 15 minutes, and a survey carried out by online ticket market place Viagogo.co.uk showed the seats were the most in-demand of the year (14).

Tickets to Bush's shows were more sought after than One Direction's Where We Are tour, which came in second place, and Benedict Cumberbatch's forthcoming London run in William Shakespeare's Hamlet, which took third even though the show does not open till next year (15).

Other events which placed in the top 10 include the Monty Python London comeback shows and Nicole Scherzinger's upcoming stint in a West End production of Cats.
