Kate Gosselin may have been betrayed by her twin daughters Thursday morning (January 16), and they didn't say a word.

Gosselin, Cara and Mady appeared on The Today Show with Savannah Guthrie to talk about their lives growing up in the public eye on Jon & Kate Plus 8. They experienced their parents' divorce, growing up with six siblings, and both her parent's antics in the media.

They recently interviewed with People about their "normal" lives, and they were supposed to elaborate on that interview, according to CNN.

Guthrie asked the twins about how their family was doing since Kate Plus 8 wrapped, and she answered, "um"… and then nothing.

"Mady, your words," Kate Gosselin said. "It's your chance. Spit it out."

Guthrie tried Cara next, but she also refused to answer the question.

"This is their chance to talk, this is the most wordless I've heard them all morning," Kate told Guthrie. "I don't want to speak for them."

Mady finally said something, after more moments of very uncomfortable silence.

"A lot of people think that filming our show has damaged us," she said. "But it's only really helped."

Jon and Kate Gosselin's sextuplets are now nine years old, and the twins seemed to be more forthcoming with People — although that's questionable now that they pretty much refused to answer those questions on live TV.

"People expect us to be damaged," Cara said in the interview.

Mady added, "think we're supposed to be so messed up, like, 'Ooh, the poor Gosselin kids, they're going to be scarred for life, waaaaah.' Here's the big news: We're not messed up."

"It's so false," Cara said. "We're fine. We're better than ever, actually."

The Gosselin issue of People is out on newsstands Jan. 20.
