Bill Hudson, the father of actors Kate Hudson and Oliver Hudson has said he’s disowned his two famous children following messages they posted online during Father’s Day last weekend. Kate Hudson Oliver HudsonKate and Oliver Hudson have been ‘disowned’ by their father Bill.

On Father’s Day Oliver had posted a throwback picture of himself and Kate on Twitter with their biological dad Bill and captioned it, ‘Happy Abandonment Day ….. @katehudson.’ Later Kate posted an image of the sibling’s with their mother’s long term partner Kurt Russell, writing ‘Pa, just simply … thank you. Happy Father's Day. I love you to the moon and back.’

In response to his children’s posts Bill Hudson told the Daily Mail, "I say to them now, 'I set you free,’ I had five birth children [including three from another relationship], but I now consider myself a father of three. I no longer recognise Oliver and Kate as my own.”

"I would ask them to stop using the Hudson name," Bill continued. "They are no longer a part of my life. Oliver’s Instagram post was a malicious, vicious, premeditated attack. He is dead to me now. As is Kate. I am mourning their loss even though they are still walking this earth."

Hudson also accused his ex wife Goldie Hawn of turning their children against him once she started dating Kurt Russell. "When we split up, she never had a bad word to say about me,” Hudson said.

“But when Kurt came on the scene, the narrative changed and I became the big, bad wolf. I would say to her “Goldie, why are you trashing me and saying I’m an absent father when it’s simply not the case?” and she’d laugh and go “Oh Bill, you know it makes for a better story””.

Hudson added that his decision to cut ties with Oliver and Katie had been a difficult one to make. "He was my first-born. I adored that child,” Hudson said of Oliver. ”When Kate came along, I loved her with all my heart, too,” he added. “There was this deep love among the four of us for years. And that's what makes it so difficult to say goodbye.” Both Kate and Oliver are yet to respond to their father’s comments.
