House of Cards actress Mara is 5'2 and X-Men actress Page is a diminutive 5'1. The two have used their small statures to parody True Detective as 'Tiny Detectives', who struggle with even the most basic of police work. Neither is able to examine a high up shelf at a crime scene, see a screen over the heads of their colleagues, or create disguises. The pair comes up with creative solutions to their frequent problems but these mostly include clambering on each other's shoulders.

The Funny or Die sketch is in response to the outcry online about the casting of the second season of True Detective. The first season starred Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson as detectives Rust Cohle and Marty Hart. It was met with praise both from critics and audiences. Now, the future of the series is uncertain as the producers have chosen to cast Colin Farrell and Vince Vaughn as the leads.

There have been a few hints about the plot too with Deadline reporting the official logline is: "Three police officers and a career criminal must navigate a web of conspiracy in the aftermath of a murder." The show will also be moving from Louisiana, where the first season was set, to a fictional Golden State City. As Vulture reports, the series is likely to be filmed in California and filming will begin this year. The season is set to air in the latter half of next year.

So if you're less than impressed with the casting of Farrell and Vaughn, see if you think Page and Mara would be any better as the next 'Tiny Detectives'.
