Possibly one of the most eagerly anticipated 90s reboots of the year.
The 90s just wouldn't have been the 90s without 'The Magic School Bus', and now - at a time when revival of that particular decade is at its peak - we will be revisiting the show in a new Netflix reboot which will star Kate McKinnon.
Kate McKinnon to star in 'The Magic School Bus: Rides Again'
According to an announcement yesterday (February 8th 2017), the 'Saturday Night Live' comedian will join the voice cast of the new series, which is also set to feature a number of original stars from the show in all new roles. There were talks of an upcoming remake in 2014, but now that the cast is in the process of being confirmed, it finally seems real.
Jennifer Aniston and Jason Bateman reunite with The Switch directors Josh Gordon and Will Speck for a holiday comedy based on a story by the guys who wrote The Hangover movies. Yes, this is pretty much what you expect it will be: a clumsily written lark that strains for gross-out gags. But it also manages to keep the audience laughing, simply because the cast is up for it.
It's set in the Chicago branch of a technology firm, where the playful director Clay (T.J. Miller) has created a lively atmosphere but is losing money. So his CEO sister Carol (Aniston) drops in to tell him she's planning to shut down the branch. Clay and manager Josh (Bateman) have one last hope: to land a big client (Courtney B. Vance), so they invite him to their epic Christmas party, which is also designed to assure the staff that everything is fine. Helping with the plan are the IT expert Tracey (Olivia Munn) and the HR director Mary (Kate McKinnon). And no one is surprised when the festivities begin to spin crazily out of control.
Frankly, the party itself is the weakest thing about the movie, as it's blown up far beyond credibility, and never given much attention in the narrative. Instead, the through-line is the wacky caper involving the central characters, played by a gang of actors who are experts at improvisation, so they continually throw amusing bits of unexpected comedy at the audience. The winner is McKinnon, who is consistently hysterical, stealing every scene as she did in Ghostbusters. But Munn's acerbic wit and Miller's endearing nuttiness give her a run for her money. As does Rob Corddry as a chucklehead colleague. By comparison, Aniston and Bateman anchor the film as the vaguely more grounded figures. Although Carol is a pretty nasty piece of work, we have no doubt that everyone will wear her down in the end.

The President-elect finds Alec Baldwin’s impersonation ‘unwatchable’.
But not everyone was laughing, as once again the real Donald Trump took to Twitter to voice his disproval over Baldwin's performance.
Baldwin’s Trump faced off against Kate McKinnon's Hillary Clinton in a recreation of the first presidential debate.

For many large companies, the office Christmas party are nights that can rapidly descend into mayhem. Free flowing liquor, music, Santa hats and the thought of the Winter Holiday period off work are enough motivation to drive even the most straight of employees to unwind.
Clay Vanstone is part of the family business, out of all their branches, his in the one that's failing and Clay is hardly a usually businessman. His sister, Carol is firm on the idea of closing down his branch but Clay is steadfast in saving the business.
As the holidays approach, Clay comes up with the great idea of combining the office party with a boozy meeting with some new clients, who, if they win their business would be enough to save their fun-loving branch.

In among ALL the controversy surrounding the reboot of Ghostbusters, there was an actual film and it turned out that it wasn’t that bad at all. And now, as angry fanboys continue to rage and people refuse to get over the fact the remake is a cast of women, Sony has confirmed Ghostbusters 2.
Melissa McCarthy has a great time filming the reboot Ghostbusters
The film was hugely hyped before its actual release - largely because of the issue of gender - but Sony sat on its hedges and director Paul Feig said the movie would need to make $500million before anyone important sat up and took notice.

This film quickly becomes the tell - tale narrative of who's laughing now, when Gilbert teams up with Yates and two other women to fight the ghosts that have decided to inhabit the city. The US is angry with Louis CK. Again.
Louis CK has made a lot of people angry with his SNL monologue – what else is new. The comedian, who thrives on controversy more than anything, So his monologue on last night’s SNL – and the scandal it caused – shouldn’t come as any sort of surprise.
How far beyond the line did Louis go this time?

David is a night guard for a company that sells armoured vehicles (known as Loomis Fargo & Company) in North Carolina; and he's not exactly what you'd call a genius. Desperate for a lifestyle away from his routine, low paid job, he sets up a massive heist; intending to break into a vault containing millions of dollars with his co-conspirators Kelly and Steve. They manage to make off with more than $17 million, making it one of the largest bank heists in American history (technically so, as most of the money belonged to the bank). Initially, the police have no leads and David hopes that using the money for something good will redeem him in the eyes of God. The FBI has other ideas when it becomes clear whose behind the robbery.

Dwayne Johnson hosted SNL and got up really, really close with the cast.
Saturday Night Live came back with a bang (you'll see what I mean) last night, with an episode hosted by Dwayne Johnson himself. Clearly, any attempts at subtlety were thrown out the window. Basically, Johnson spent a significant chunk of the show with his face thrust in another man's crotch in a "standing 69."
Remember, guys, the Rock is a serious actor now.
Yep, it was one of those episodes. The golden moment came during a segment depicting an "Indiana Jones" knockoff movie, "Escape From Jungle Island." Johnson, playing "Dr. Bones" - get it? Huh? You got it - plays an adventurer who finds himself on an island with a male companion, Shortlong, and a female companion, who's desperate for Dr. Bones' attention.

JK Simmons. SNL. It's the perfect weekend entertainment.
If you don’t instantly remember J.K. Simmons’ name and career, don’t feel too bad – with roles like the Farmers insurance guy and the yellow M&M, Simmons’ sharp wit (or face for that matter) don’t immediately spring to mind. But after his SNL monologue from last night, it will.
Despite his surly character, Simmons is kind of the best.
It was Simmons' tyrannical music conductor from Whiplash who came out when he hosted this week's "Saturday Night Live." Whiplash is, of course a music-themed drama about a young drummer (Miles Teller), who enters a conservatory under the tutelage of a tyrannical, perfectionist mentor (Simmons).

The collective consciousness seems to be pretty much over Justin Bieber, but Saturday Night Live sure isn’t. It helped that Calvin Klein recently launched a new ad campaign starring the disgraced teen pop star.
Kate McKinnon does an excellent Justin Bieber impression, just FYI
In what was probably the funniest part of last night’s show, Kate McKinnon reprised her infamous Justin Bieber impression to point out what we’ve all been thinking – Justin Bieber is kind of a man child and the ad is kind of ridiculous.

Jim Carrey's first guest host spot on 'SNL' since 2011 was a real winner.
Jim Carrey's third appearance on 'Saturday Night Live' at the weekend (October 25th 2014) proved to be another eye-wateringly hilarious episode - though we know we'll be stuck with an image of the actor in a nude unitard and blonde wig forever more.
Jim Carrey does 'Chandelier' rather well
Yes, Saturday's 'SNL' highlight was the Halloween themed office party sketch, which saw the 'Dumb and Dumber' star re-enact the video for Sia's Platinum hit 'Chandelier', alongside identically dressed cast member Kate Mckinnon as they attempted to battle it out for the right to wear the costume. The pair performed the energetic dance routine of 'Dance Moms' star Maddie Ziegler who starred in the video, and while it has to be said that it really is a remarkable rendition, Jim Carrey's customary absurd facial expressions made it a truly unmissable show - that and musical guest Iggy Azalea's unexpected cameo.

The 'Girls' star will host 'SNL' this Saturday!
The promo clip has been released for the upcoming Lena Dunham-hosted Saturday Night Live, which will air this Saturday (8th March). In the usual SNL promo style, Dunham appears in multiple takes to announce that she'll be hosting the entertainment show with music provided by Brooklyn's The National.
Lena Dunham Will Host This Saturday's Episode Of 'SNL.'
The Girls writer appears in the comedy clip with SNL cast member Kate McKinnon but, unlike her character Hannah, this time it wasn't Dunham who was the butt of all the jokes. "I recently went on a Girls ride at a theme park," says McKinnon, her arm linked with Lena's. "Um, I don't think there is a Girls ride," replies an awkward-looking Lena.
Actors, anchors and TV hosts alike were all spotted showing their support for 'Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues' at the New York premiere held at the Beacon Theatre.
The promos are here! It's happening!
Are you counting down the days until Jimmy Fallon and Justin Timberlake host/guest on Saturday Night Live? Of course you are. We all are. Only three days left. Despite Fallon being an SNL alumn himself, he wasn’t spared from having to brave the NY cold and record some promos for the Dec 21 event alongside Kenan Thompson and Kate McKinnon. And we’re glad for that, because, predictably, Fallon’s promos are pretty hilarious.
Brace yourselves, the SNL show you didn't even know you needed is almost here.
And, uh, we hate to break it to you... but JT won’t be there, because of a cancelled flight. Nah, of course he’ll be there, but they did give us a start with that particular joke. Though Fallon and Thompson would be forgiven, since they were apparently forced to stand in the snow (or pigeon droppings, as Jimmy joked in true NY style) for hours to film those promos.
