Kate Moss was seen relaxing on holiday in Italy this week, chilling poolside and generally enjoying the perks of summer – such as lounging around in a bikini and abandoning restrictive diets – as we all know, food has no calories on holiday. However, while she was R&R-ing in Portofino, some paps had their lucky day and managed to snap some less-than-flattering pictures of the supermodel.

A bit covered up, but she looks fine to us.

In the pictures, Moss is relaxing in a skimpy bikini, which highlights the fact that – gasp – her body has a bit of flab here and there. The news that Kate Moss, infamous, somewhat emaciated 90s beauty, could lose a few pounds were apparently shocking to the world and the pictures – originally published by The Sun are already making the rounds online.

It’s worth noting that Kate doesn’t have any public engagements to prepare for anytime soon, nor is she shooting any campaigns, which could have something to do with the weight gain. Regardless, a source close to the model reportedly said that Kate doesn’t have any problems losing weight when she has to, though she prefers to do it in the form of a crash diet, rather than balanced eating and exercise. "Kate's lucky she's naturally thin, but she turns 40 next January and feels that, while slim, she's not as firm and toned as she used to be," said the friend for Closer Magazine"She'll sometimes do yoga or Pilates twice a week in the run-up to summer, but she'd rather slim down on a diet than spend hours on a treadmill.”

No draining workouts for this model.

In any case, criticism on her changing body isn’t the worst thing Kate has heard about herself, as she revealed in an interview with the mag. Speaking about the tabloid rumours she said: ‘It was horrible, especially the anorexic thing. The heroin, I was like, ‘Oh, its just ridiculous I don’t do heroin. Just because I wear a bit of black eyeliner that’s smudged…’

With so much public scrutiny, it’s good that the model can afford to have a piece of cake once in a while. Chocolate does calm the nerves, we’ve heard.

Could this woman really be over 40?
