The prestigious ceremony honoured the best Britain in the modelling and fashion industry.

One iconic Brit was honoured for her services and success in the industry for over the past 25 years.

Kate Moss received a Special Recognition Award for her lustrous and long career at the top of the fashion world.

She collected the award from one of Britain's top fashion designers, Marc Jacob, who said, "London might have two Kates, but in my mind there is only one," (via Grazia Daily).

When Moss collected the distinguished award, she told the audience members, "Oh my god it's so weird, very very surreal. Thank you everyone who has worked with and kept booking me. I am really very grateful thank you!"

The 39 year-old has received other accolades from the BFA in previous years, she won model of the year in 2006 and then repeated the feat in 2009, but she is the first recipient of a special recognition award.

Kate's 40th birthday is a matter of months away (Jan 16th) and to mark the milestone occasion she will pose nude for Playboy magazine's December 2013 issue, which is also celebrating its 60th anniversary.

One Direction's Harry Styles was also awarded at last night's ceremony for the British Style Award, the 19 year-old heartthrob was voted the winner by the British public.

Harry won the award, that 'recognises an individual who most embodies the spirit of London and is an international ambassador for London as a leading creative fashion capital', by beating the likes of David Beckman and his old flame Cara Delevingne.
