Playboy call it tradition, a lot of others would call it rampant, engrained and endemic sexism, but Kate Moss is quite literally on all fours, wearing a black bunny costume, as made famous by the early Playboy models.

It’s all part of Kate Moss' upcoming pictorial which runs in Playboy magazine's December 2013 issue – the Croyden-born model is said to be posing nude in celebration of her 40th birthday, but it’s not like she hasn’t been seen without any clothes on before…

"She's a worldwide celebrity and iconic and crosses the boundaries from sexual imagery to upscale modelling. It's a natural for us," said Hugh Hefner, founder of the mag, according to The Mirror.

Playboy's editorial director Jimmy Jellinek said: "This is a massive global brand. You need a global icon in order to celebrate that - that was the impetus.

"You're talking about the face of Burberry, the biggest supermodel in the world on the cover of Playboy. She's the perfect partner for us to help launch the next 60 years. It started with Marilyn Monroe on the cover of Playboy 60 years ago, an icon for her time. Now we've got Kate Moss!"

The highly-anticipated spread will be out in early 2014.

Kate Moss’s figure has shot back to the centre of attention recently having been a highly contentious issue in the mid-90s. With high profile pop-stars like Miley Cyrus and Rihanna flaunting their figures to sell records and up hits on music videos, the issue of sexism is a hotly debated topic at the moment.
