Kate Winslet has banned computers from her house.

The 'Steve Jobs' actress believes she's ''winning'' the fight against technology as she's imposed strict rules about the use of electronics in the family home and doesn't let her children, Mia, 14, Joe, 11, and 22-month-old Bear anywhere near laptops, desktop computers or smart tablet devices.

She explained: ''They [the children] don't have computers because we don't really do that in my house. You have to be a bit careful with that stuff with children because then they can become addicted to it like we all are.

''I want them to be kids but it's a hard fight when they say 'But so and so's got one, why can't I have one?'. I say 'well, because you can go and climb that tree instead.' So it is quite a difficult fight for a parent to fight, but we're winning.''

However her rules on technology haven't caused tantrums within her household, yet, and Kate says she's the ''happiest'' she's ever been thanks to her strong career, her gorgeous children and her husband Ned Rocknroll.

The 40-year-old star told The Daily Mirror newspaper: ''I have experienced moments in my life when I've had to work hard to come out the other side... It makes me so grateful to have strength and positivity. There's no hippyish, funky stuff. I just believe in being positive.''

She added: ''I'm happiest when I'm with my little family and we all wake up in the morning and everyone piles into bed and climbs on top of each other and someone has the great idea of 'Oh, let's put on a cartoon' and Ned says 'Let's make some coffee'. Those moments are when I'm so happy.''
