The 38 year-old actress was "overwhelmed by the number of people that are here today," following a 4.4 earthquake in Southern California that morning.
Kate Winslet's name will be remembered for many years to come as the British actress is prized with one of Hollywood's top honors.
The already celebrated actress received the 2,520th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame Monday (March 17th).
This was the first public appearance Winslet has made since giving birth to son, Bear, only three-months ago.
But her post-baby body was one to be admired as she wore in a black, figure fitting dress that showed off her desirable curves.
Once Winslet took to the microphone to address the gathered crowd, she thanked them for their turn-out despite the 4.4 earthquake that hit Southern California in the morning.
"I'm completely overwhelmed by the number of people that are here today," she said. "I honestly had no idea this was going to be quite such a well-attended event, especially after the earthquake this morning, which frightened me quite a lot actually."
Joining Kate to celebrate was her 'Titanic' and 'Revolutionary Road' co-star Kathy Bates, 'Titanic' director James Cameron and her new 'Divergent' co-star Shailene Woodley, who called Kate her "idol."
Bates also wanted to praise the 38 year-old actress, but in her own unique way the 65 year-old complemented Kate while talking about what may happen to the star.

"You deserve to have stars strewn at your feet," she said. "Even though stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame sometimes get a little dirty with a little poo or whatever, what will last is your wonderful beautiful films, characters that you've played that have stolen our hearts. Nobody can ever poo on those."
Winslet has been nominated for an Academy-Award six times, and finally won in 2009 for Best Actress for her portrayal in 'The Reader.' She has also been honored with three Golden Globes and two BAFTA awards.
