Welsh singer Katherine Jenkins refuses to be downbeat about losing in the final of Dancing With The Stars, because she's excited about returning to the U.K. for Queen Elizabeth II's Diamond Jubilee and the London Olympics.
The opera star came second, behind American football player Donald Driver, in the finale of the U.S. TV show on Tuesday night (22May12), but told fans she was jubilant to have made the last round of the contest.
In a post on her Twitter.com page, she declared, "Being runner up on Dwts feels pretty amazing... Thank u to all who voted to put us 2nd! I never would have thought this possible at the start!"
Jenkins is now looking forward to returning to the U.K. for a summer of high-profile gigs, which include performing in front of the monarch at a special show on 2 June (12).
She tells Britain's Daily Express, "I just think, what a lovely, special thing to come home to do. I was invited to do that before signing up for this show so I've known about it for a few months but I had to keep quiet."
The star has also teased fans by hinting at a performance to mark the special sporting event, adding: "I'm involved in the Olympics too, but I can't say anything about that just yet."
