What if the world was a place where homosexuality was the norm, and being heterosexual was thought of as a sin? This movie focuses on two storylines. One is about a female quarterback named Jude who finds herself having feelings for a journalist named Ryan. They try to keep their relationship secret, but soon their affair becomes public knowledge and they face discrimination and bullying at every turn. The other story follows a young girl named Emily Curtis who, despite being told her whole life that relationships should only be between people of the same sex, finds herself falling for her classmate Ian Santilli. Unfortunately, some hetero-hating bullies are out to get her too.

Jack Halcombe is an Alaskan State Trooper who determinedly sets out to find a serial killer after several bodies of young girls show up apparently murdered. When he discovers a frightened young girl hiding away bound with handcuffs, he realises that she is their key to finding the killer being the only one to have managed to escape from his clutches. However, her information is in doubt given the fact that she is a prostitute and refused a polygraph. When he does find the suspect, it is Robert Hansen; an experience hunter and a bakery worker whose respected status leads many investigators to cross him off their list. Halcombe is unwavering in his suspicions, however, and sets out to gather solid evidence that Hansen is their man.

Prior to the unopposed congressman Cam Brady's fifth term election, two affluent CEOs decide enough is enough after Brady commits a major public faux pas. They bring in a second candidate to rival Brady and allow them to gain control over North Carolina. Their candidate, Marty Huggins, though less charismatic than Brady but equally as much of an intellectual vacuum, is the na<ve local Tourism Center director who, with the help of his new supporters and a ruthless campaign manager, quickly becomes a genuine competitor incurring many more of Brady's public indiscretions.
