Katie Holmes will receive $400,000 a year from ex-husband Tom Cruise in child support per year it has emerged, after the pair's divorce papers leaked online.
The papers detail that Holmes will receive her annual payments to look after Suri, who will see her father on a secondary basis as opposed to her mother, who will maintain majority custody. This yearly payment will be all that Holmes will be able to get of Cruise's vast wealth, following the prenuptial agreement signed between the two prior to the wedding five years ago that excludes her from any part of the $250 million Cruise fortune. On top of the alimony support, Tom will also pay for any of Suri's expenses, from any medical or dental treatment, to her insurance, education, and extracurricular costs that she might have need of before her 18th birthday.
The divorce papers also detail that Suri will not be sent into private education at any time, as Katie bids to continue to protect her daughter from Tom's religion of Scientology. After beginning seeing one another in April 2005, the pair married in November 2006, at a lavish ceremony in Northern Italy. Holmes filed for divorce in June this year, citing irreconcilable differences between the pair, however many have since cited Tom's undying loyalty to his cultish religion Scientology as one of the main causes for the divorce.
