Harvey Price swore during a live episode of the daytime talkshow on May 17th.
Broadcast regulator Ofcom will investigate ITV’s Loose Women for offensive language, after Katie Price’s son Harvey swore during a live broadcast last month. Harvey, 14, was appearing in a segment discussing internet trolls, when he dropped the ‘C-bomb’ prompting complaints from viewers.
Katie Price’s son Harvey swearing on ‘Loose Women’ has prompted an Ofcom investigation.
An Ofcom spokesperson said: “Ofcom is investigating this programme which included the most offensive language before the watershed.” Ten viewers are said to have complained after the May 17th broadcast.
Harvey suffers from Prader-Willi syndrome and is visually impaired and autistic. He was appearing on the show as his mother discussed the online abuse she and Harvey have received from internet trolls.
Price had asked him: “If someone says something horrible to Harvey, what does Harvey say?” Harvey then replied: “Hello you c****” Host Andrea McClean immediately apologised saying: “OK, we apologise, we apologise for that, but this is one of the reasons why we wanted to do this live.”
Ofcom also added that they had asked ITV for background information about "how they had ensured due care of Harvey" with regards to his welfare. However they say they’ve received ‘sufficient assurances’ not to pursue the issue further.
Speaking about the incident on Channel 5's 'Up Late with Rylan’ last month Price said: “He must have planned it in his head before we went on air I said, Harvey no swearing, and he said 'yes mummy'.”
