Embattled comedian Katt Williams will not face criminal charges following his arrest on suspicion of child endangerment, according to a U.S. report.

Cops visited the funnyman's Los Angeles home on 28 December (12) and detained him for allegedly endangering four children. Officials at L.A. County Department of Children and Family Services reportedly found guns and drugs in the house, which they deemed a safety hazard for the kids.

Williams was later released from custody on $100,000 (£62,500) bail, and he defended his decision to allow guns in his home.

He said, "How do you keep kids safe without guns? If the police come in and raid my place and break into my gun boxes, you're gonna find guns! I'm not in a gang, what difference does it make?"

Editors at Tmz.com now report the District Attorney decided not to file felony charges and referred the case to the L.A. City Attorney.

The website suggests Williams will escape charges, but he will be counselled and warned about his behaviour during at an informal hearing at the City Attorney's office.
