Katy Perry's Fashion Designer Friend Jeremy Scott Has Filed A Motion To End A Legal Battle Over A Dress He Created For The Singer.
Moschino designer Scott has been sued over a graffiti-style printed gown which the Firework star wore to the Met Gala in New York earlier this year (15).
A graffiti artist called Rime, real name Joseph Tierney, filed suit against Scott in August (15) alleging the designer copied the motif for his Moschino autumn 2015 collection from a wall mural Tierney created in Detroit, Michigan in 2012.
Scott is now fighting back by filing a motion to dismiss the case, insisting the print he used on the fabric was chosen by someone else.
In the legal papers, he states, "(The images) were selected and created by a graphic artist... and completely independently of me."
The motion will be reviewed during a court hearing in California on 21 December (15).
"(It) seems like all he did was name-drop celebrities, condescend... claim that he didn't design anything and shift blame," Rime tells New York Post gossip column Page Six of Scott's filing. "If he doesn't design anything for Moschino, then what exactly does he do?...
"He seems to think of himself as an artist, but he really doesn't seem to care about other artists all that much."
