The world will get to hear the rapper's verse on Katy's track "Dark Horse" on September 17.
Katy Perry is a joy to work with, according to rapper Juicy J, who dropped a verse on the Roar singer’s upcoming track, Dark Horse. Juicy J’s verse has not reached the public yet, as the brief snippet Perry released recently included only her vocals. However, when asked “whether there had been any twerking” in between takes in the studio, J said for RapFix Live, via MTV News.
Juicy J loved working with Katy Perry.
"No, no, no, no. She's very professional, everything went smooth and she's a great person," he said. "My verse I did on that song, she was singing it. She's really a genius, she was by the mixing board and telling the guy what to take in and take out. She's really hands-on with her music, she knows music."
He also explained that the collaboration was a spontaneous one, spurred on by the song’s producer, Dr. Luke (who also worked with Perry on her smash hit Roar). "Dr. Luke called me up and was like, 'Hey man, Katy Perry wants you to do a song with her'," J said of the Roar producer.
Perry is currently busy promoting her upcoming album, as well as her new fragrance, Killer Queen.
Lo and behold, Dark Horse was born. The track won’t be released in full until September 17, following a fan-voted contest, MTV reports. It will also appear on Katy Perry’s upcoming album, Prism. The release date of the full record has been set for October 22, with Dark Horse serving as the promotional single.
Her fourth studio album, Prism, is set for an October release.
