Katy Perry was honoured at UNICEF's annual Snowflake Ball last night, with the Audrey Hepburn Humanitarian Award.

The musician was accompanied to the ceremony by her boyfriend Orlando Bloom, but she left her new diamond ring at home, after it sparked engagement rumours earlier this week.

Perry was presented the award by Hillary Clinton, who the singer had campaigned heavily for in the run-up to this month’s election.

“I have seen Katy's commitment to the causes she believes in firsthand,” Clinton said on stage.

“I've gotten to spend time with her and I know how deeply she cares about making our world a better place.

“She is serious about understanding the complex problems we face and pulling people together to solve them. We need champions like Katy now more than ever: her passion, her energy and, yes, her voice, louder than a lion.”

Despite break-up rumours earlier this month, Perry and Bloom showed they were still going strong on Monday evening, when they were photographed on a night out in New York City.

But what caught the attention of photographers was the massive diamond sparkler Perry was showing off on her left ring finger.

An eyewitness told Entertainment Tonight: "She walked with her left hand leading her, and bent her hand to show off the large sparkler to the cameras.

"Katy was happy and laughing, joking with Orlando and pals as they got into the car,” the eye witness added. “Katy and Orlando seemed proud to show off their happiness."
