The re-make of '90s cult classic 'Point Break' is released on December 25th in the United States.
Earlier this year, fans of ‘90s movies were filled with a mixture of excitement and nervousness at the prospect of cult classic Point Break being remade. With the American release scheduled for December 25th, one of the movie’s stars, Luke Bracey, spoke exclusively to us about his experiences on set.
The 26 year old star was only two when the original was released, but he reassured fans that he was “very familiar” with the Keanu Reeves and Patrick Swayze, having watched it plenty of times as a teenager.
“It’s a movie I grew up with in Australia. I also grew up surfing on the beaches of Sydney, and it’s kind of handed to you with your first surfboard if you’re born in the ‘90s [laughs]. Your first surfboard and a copy of Point Break and it goes from there! So if you get an e-mail saying there’s a potential you could be Johnny Utah [Keanu Reeves’ character in the original], your eyes go wide and you get really nervous.”
It's been a pretty spooky year...
It's almost Halloween and, if you're staying in, you're going to have to go through that difficult process of deciding what film to put on. 2015 has seen rather a few horror movies, but it has to be noted that only a handful of them are worth your time.

The next morning, feeling a little hazy and regretful, he asks them to leave, which turns out to be his second mistake of the last 24 hours. They soon return with much more than sex on their mind; this these two femme fatales are out for blood under the guise of revenge for his cheating ways.

Since his beginning in the late 1980s, Keanu Reeves has been reinventing himself over and over again in his roles of choice.
With every hit movie, pundits triumph the "rebirth" of Keanu Reeves, but the actor has been reinventing himself steadily over his 57 movies. Now at age 50, 'John Wick' proves that there's still a lot of life in him.
Keanu Reeves in 'John Wick'
Born in Beirut to English-American parents and raised in Toronto, Reeves was first noticed by critics at age 22 in the dark teen drama 'River's Edge' (1986). His first change of pace was with the cult classic comedy 'Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure' (1989), after which he had smaller hits with both a thriller and serious drama ('Point Break' and 'My Own Private Idaho', both 1991) before reigniting the box office in the action romp 'Speed' (1994).

There have been so many awful revenge thrillers lately that we've almost forgotten that it's possible to make a good one, and this is a rare example of striking the right balance of exhilarating action and dark emotion. Yes, there's a high body count, but this isn't a mow-them-down romp: there's a real sense of pain at all of the senseless bloodshed caused by one idiot's inability to conceive that his actions might have repercussions.
The film also gives Keanu Reeves yet another chance to cleverly reinvent himself on-screen as John Wick, a still-feared former mob hitman who left his job to have a happy life with his wife (Bridget Moynahan). But her untimely illness and death have left him a broken man. His only glimmer of hope is her deathbed gift of an adorable puppy to keep him company. Then even this is taken from him, when cocky Russian thug Iosef (Alfie Allen) steals his vintage Mustang and kills the puppy. In need of closure, John resurrects his past, which is a problem because his ex-boss Viggo (Michael Nyqvist) is Iosef's dad, and he knows that John is unstoppable. So Viggo reluctantly offers a massive bounty on John's head, taken up by John's former fellow assassin pals (Willem Dafoe and Adrianne Palicki). But it's doubtful that anyone can stop the legendary John Wick from bringing down the entire Russian mafia.
Intriguingly, everyone in the film knows this legend except the dim-witted moron Iosef, who blithely keeps on carousing while everyone around him prepares for Armageddon. Writer Derek Kolstad and director Chad Stahelski set the story in a fantastical criminal underworld that uses solid gold coins as currency in shimmering underground nightclubs, lavish spas and a mob hotel in which "business" is strictly prohibited. All of this is fiendishly inventive, with a striking visual atmosphere and an even stronger moody tone. At the centre, Reeves gives John a jagged sense of humour as he braces himself wearily for the inevitable carnage, all while trying to control his much deeper emotional pain.

'John Wick 2' is already in development.
John Wick was undeniably one of the critical hits of 2014. The IMDb synopsis had hinted at a knock-off Taken - if such a thing could exist - though what we got was a taut, stylish, thrilling that served as a dizzying return to form for Keanu Reeves.

As the slew of positive reviews rained in, there was talk of a potential franchise and, now, directors Chad Stahelski and David Leitch have confirmed that a sequel is already in the works.

Keanu Reeves re-teamed with old colleagues, stuntmen David Leitch and Chad Stahelski, for 'John Wick'.
Assassin thriller 'John Wick' is one of the most talked-about action flicks this side of 2014, and for leading man Keanu Reeves that isn't surprising - even if we have to experience the trauma of his puppy's untimely demise.
Keanu Reeves has/had the most adorable puppy in 'John Wick'
Keanu Reeves plays the titular former hitman in the film, which sees him come out of retirement and set out on a brutal mission to avenge both his wife, who died some time previously, and his young pup, who was brutally murdered at the hands of some rather unforgiving rivals. The movie serves as the directorial debut of David Leitch and Chad Stahelski, whose previous filmset roles where those of stuntmen. 'I first met Chad Stahelski in 1998, he was working as a stuntman on 'The Matrix' and he worked [as the stunt double] for the character I played, Neo', Reeves reveals. 'And then I worked with him on the second two films of the trilogy where I also met [producer] David Leitch there.'

Can "John Wick" singlehandedly save the action genre? Raise your hand, if you didn't even know it needed saving.
Is the action movie industry in trouble? Keanu Reeves seems to think so. The actor has been sort of absent from the Hollywood scene of late, but he returned this weekend with John Wick. Rather self-righteously, Reeves seems to think that this is the movie that will save the action movie genre. If you weren’t even aware that action movies needed saving, go read Reeves’ interview with Josh Horowitz over on MTV – it’s full of little nuggets of wisdom.
Best Film ever? John Wick features high-speed action and a puppy - don't get too attached.

Critics are slightly uncertain about Keanu Reeves' latest movie 'John Wick', but audiences have voted with their feet as the movie made over $5 million on its opening night.
John Wick was released in US cinemas on Friday (24th October) and has already been hailed as a financial success, making $5.45 million on its opening night. So if you fancy seeing Keanu Reeves back where he belongs - in full action mode - here's what John Wick is all about and what the critics have to say.
The film has been well received by critics who have largely commented on its violent nature. It has been described as the archetypal action film which offers impressive fight scenes and a relatively simplistic storyline. As Vulture's critic wrote John Wick is 'a beautiful coffee-table action movie.' However, others have also criticised the violent element of the film, with one critic remarking John Wick 'is a film where every human being is a sack of meat waiting to be tenderized' (Globe and Mail).
John Wick is violent, sure - but it could be one of the best movies of the year.
Admit it. You thought John Wick was going to be a big, fat flop didn't you? You thought Keanu Reeves was done. Well, surprise. John Wick has 100% on Rotten Tomatoes. It's basically the best thing ever made. Sort of.
Liam Neeson wishes he could be John Wick
Reeves plays a retired hitman who comes out of retirement to track down gangsters that took everything from him. It's a fresh take on the assassin genre and is basically everything that the Taken franchise, and Spike Lee's remake of Oldboy, should have been.
'The Matrix' star is growing agitated of not landing roles in big budget productions.
Keanu Reeves is undoubtedly most well known for his lead role in the hugely successful sci-fi trilogy 'The Matrix,' but it seems his days as 'the one' are now over mainly because big movie projects constantly elude him.
Reeves desires more roles in big budget movies
The talented actor, who was last seen in the 2013 action flick '47 Ronin,' recently revealed that he does want to be offered more movie roles in big budget productions.
During the arrivals for the New York special screening of 'John Wick' at Regal Union Square Stadium the cast and directors was photographed. Among these, were Keanu Reeves who stars, and 'Game of Thrones' actor, Alfie Allen.
John Wick was one of the criminal underground's finest hitmen until the untimely death of his beloved wife. Now he's living a relatively solitary life with his pet dog, retired from that world and living peacefully. That is until his car gets recognised by some former enemies responsible for his wife's death and he is beaten half to death in his own home, his dog brutally killed in front of him. Unfortunately for the perpetrators, they have no idea who their messing with, and when they are warned by a major crime boss of his uniquely gifted fighting abilities, they are forced to recruit their deadliest men (and women) to take Wick down. But now, with nothing left to lose, Wick is more dangerous than ever before.

Another woman has been caught mooching around Keanu Reeves' house in the Hollywood Hills.
Things we learnt today: Keanu Reeves has the worst home security system in Hollywood. You may remember we reported last week that a woman had broken into the actor's house and was found chilling out in his library room. Well, it's happened again. This time: a different woman.

Keanu Reeves has faced an intruder in his home.
It's not often that Keanu Reeves makes the headlines; he's a private man, and with his box office appearences fairly hit and miss since the glory days of The Matrix and Bill and Ted, we've just not seen much of him. But when we do, his stories tend to be the best, and the latest is no exception.
Keanu kept cool as a cucumber when faced with an intruder in his home
According to TMZ, Reeves was awoken on Monday morning by a noise at his Los Angeles home, and when he went to check his library, he was face to face with a woman sitting in his chair. Creepy. But Keanu, cool as ever, didn't freak out. He very calmly called the police who came and took the woman away for a psych evaluation. Only the One could take something so crazy as someone breaking into their home completely in their stride.

Keanu Reeves has picked up a pretty poor reputation as being a wooden and dull actor. Will he ever be able be a big box office star again?
Back in the 90s Keanu Reeves was one of Hollywood’s top heartthrobs. Along with Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise and Johnny Depp, Reeves could pull in an audience simply based on his brooding good looks and loyal female fan base.
Can Keanu Reeves become the box office star that he once was?
When Reeves burst onto the scene in the 80s starring in the Bill and Ted movies he instantly became a cult icon. It’s considered by some one of Reeve’s only performances that wasn’t totally “bogus.” When he stepped out of Ted’s shoes, however, and branched into the world of real acting - not everyone was so impressed.
