Rocker Keith Richards Has Revisited The Mythical Feud Between His Band The Rolling Stones And The Beatles By Revealing He's Not A Fan Of The Fab Four's Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band Album.
The band's groundbreaking 1967 release is considered one of the best records of all time, but guitarist Richards considers it "a load of s**t".
In fact the Rolling Stones star feels the Beatles were burned out as they made the album, which he compares to his group's Their Satanic Majesties Request, which was also released in 1967.
He tells Esquire.com, "The Beatles sounded great when they were the Beatles. But there's not a lot of roots in that music. I think they got carried away. Why not?
"You just get carried away - you forget what it is you wanted to do. You're starting to do Sgt. Pepper. Some people think it's a genius album, but I think it's a mishmash of rubbish, kind of like (our) Satanic Majesties - Oh, if you can make a load of s**t, so can we."
