British singer Kele Okereke is confused by reports of his apparent dismissal from Bloc Party, but admits he is "laughing hard" at the speculation.
The group announced a hiatus in 2009 to allow Okereke time to work on his solo album, The Boxer, which was released last year (10).
Guitarist Russell Lissack announced on Wednesday (28Sep11) that the band is making plans to audition for a new singer, after growing tried of waiting for Okereke to rejoin them.
But Okereke is baffled by the reports, declaring in a post on his blog, "I don't know what to make of this. A big part of me is laughing hard at all of this but another part of me is all like Wtf? (what the f**k).
"I'm quite curious as to what a Bloc Party audition would be like? I wonder if they would let me sit on the panel so I could be a judge Tyra Banks style?"
