Kelly Clarkson is planning ''on being pregnant'' by the end of the year.

The 'Heartbeat Song' singer already has 11-month-old daughter River with husband Brandon Blackstock and is hoping to try for another baby as soon as she finishes her upcoming tour.

Telling BANG Showbiz about her touring plans, she said: ''I do America until October, and then Canada in October, so I think we're coming here [to the UK] in November. Hopefully, because I plan on being pregnant very soon after that, so hopefully I get here!''

Although she has already scheduled some time to have her second child, the 33-year-old star admitted she finds it ''hard'' being a woman because it means ''fitting'' pregnancy in with her career.

She explained: ''After tour I want to start (trying) for the next one. It's hard being a woman and wanting kids and fitting in your career. I want them to be close together, because the other two are kind of close together, my stepkids. So I want to tour, I'm looking forward to it. I haven't done it since 2013 so I'm really looking forward to it because we've built an amazing show. But I am looking forward to the tail-end, going back into it!''

The chart-topping musician also spoke about the media scrutiny on her appearance, insisting she takes no notice because she is a ''happy person''.

Speaking at Capital's Summertime Ball with Vodafone, she added: ''My Mum will tell you, I came out of the womb just saying, 'Whatever!' I don't know, I'm a happy person, so as long as that's rocking in my world then I'll just do what I'm doing.''
