If anyone needed any evidence that Kelly Clarkson wasn't gay (and we can't for a second think why they'd care), then this should do it. Kelly Clarkson says she's not gay. And she thinks the rumours are insulting to the gay community.

"People think, 'Oh, she's been single for too long,'" Clarkson told Cosmopolitan in an interview for its February issue. "That's kind of an insult to the gay community. Being single doesn't mean you're gay. But I'm never insulted by it, obviously," the singer said, citing some perks: "I mean, I get hit on by the hottest girls ever. Oh, my God, if I were a lesbian, I would be so in luck. But it's just not my thing. I've always batted for the boys' team."

Clarkson - winner of American Idol all those years ago - recently got engaged to her beau , and the 30 year old must be glad as she's certainly not a fan of the type of guys that try it on. "[U]sually the guys who hit on me are tools ... ," Clarkson told the mag. "It's like 'American Idol' auditions: The guys who are the most confident are the horrible ones, and the ones who are good have no confidence at all."
