Stereophonics star Kelly Jones is urging fellow Brits to donate funds for the devastated families of four miners who died in a flood in his native Wales last week (beg12Sep11).
Phillip Hill, Garry Jenkins, David Powell, and Charles Breslin were killed after becoming trapped in the Swansea Valley mine near Pontardawe on Thursday morning (15Sep11).
The Swansea Valley Miners Appeal Fund was set up to help the grieving relatives of the tragic miners, and the British public quickly raised $80,000 (£50,000) in donations.
Now Jones is asking for more donations, and reveals the incident is close to his heart due to his family ties to the mining community.
He says, "Having two grandfathers and many family members as miners it was devastating."
