She may have left ‘Fashion Police’ because of her co-star’s now infamous remarks about Zendaya Coleman’s hair, but it turns out that this may have simply been the last straw for Kelly Osbourne. Reports indicate that she had been unhappy about the general direction of the show for some time.

An unnamed source told the New York Post’s Page Six column that, while co-host Giuliana Rancic and the E! network's failure to handle the fallout of those comments properly was a factor, 30 year old Osbourne was unhappy without her friend Joan Rivers, who passed away last September, to present the show with any more.

“After Joan died, Kelly gave [the show] a shot. She thought the show was going to be revamped [after Joan's death], but it was basically the same except they hired new people and there was a new set.”

Kathy Griffin may have gone done reasonably well with viewers, but another insider told People magazine earlier this week: “There was very little direction. It was almost a trial by fire. People thought bringing Kathy in wouldn't be as big a deal, but she did things differently. With Joan it was a well-oiled machine. People were miserable before this [Zendaya incident] even happened.”

In the aftermath of the racism row, caused by Rancic’s remark that Zendaya Coleman’s hair looked like it smelled of “weed” and “patchouli”, Osbourne took to Twitter to distance herself from the comments and hoped that both sides could settle the argument like adults.

Despite Rancic’s apology a number of days later, it appeared that it still wasn’t enough to prevent Osbourne from quitting the show late last week.

Osbourne is also apparently unhappy that Khloe Kardashian is being touted as a possibility to replace her on ‘Fashion Police’. The hype around the rumours suggests to her that E! were simply waiting for the opportunity to push her out, another source close to her told Radar.
