Kelsey Grammer Pushing For Re-Boot Of 'Frasier'

Kelsey Grammer

One of American comedy’s most iconic characters might be about to make a return, with reports that Kelsey Grammer is pitching ideas for a re-boot of ‘Frasier’ to network executives.

Grammer portrayed the snobbish, conceited but loveable radio psychiatrist Dr. Frasier Crane for 11 seasons on NBC’s ‘Frasier’ between 1993 and 2004, making it the longest-running comedy series on American television before ‘The Big Bang Theory’ gazumped it a few years ago.

‘Frasier’ was itself a spin-off series of the ‘80s sitcom ‘Cheers’, with Grammer portraying his character from its third season in 1984 onwards. But now, more than three decades after he first played the part, Deadline reports that 63 year old Grammer is now angling for a re-boot of the character.

Kelsey Grammer And Andy Samberg Think Storks Celebrates Family

Andy Samberg Kelsey Grammer

And for the voice cast, this made creating the characters a lot of fun. "For me," says Kelsey Grammer, father of six children, "it's about just celebrating babies, celebrating life, celebrating the gift that every child is."

Andy Samberg stars in Storks

Grammer enjoyed taking on a darker role as the intimidating boss Hunter in the movie. "Well, you just have to know what play you're in," he laughs. "You have to know you are in a comedy. You have to know that you are actually allowing the audience to participate on some level. In this, when you go dark, you know that there is something funny going on."

Over the centuries Stalks have been entrusted to create and deliver human babies to their new families. Junior's father has built up a successful business with just those deliveries but profits aren't what they used to be and now Junior's father has decided to branch out into package delivery.

Junior is set to inherit the family business and all he has to do is get through the next 24 hours but his ride goes anything but smoothly after he accidently creates a new baby by mistake. Junior asks for help from Tulip, the only human working at Stalks & Co. Tulip is an orphan who's always wanted to find her real mother and father but in the meantime takes delight in helping others fulfil their dreams.

Along the way, Tulip, Junior and their special care package run into all sorts of problems, they're being chased by Pigeon Toady who thinks he knows an unauthorised baby is about to be imminently delivered and also a pack of stealthy wolves who can't decide if they want to eat or adopt the baby.

However, times are tough for the Storks of today and they have to turn to alternative delivery options and they're now delivering merchandise for internet shops.

When an influential and forward-thinking writer locks horns with a conservative author, things get a little intense. Gore Vidal and William F. Buckley, Jr. made headlines when they were enlisted to debate the Republican and Democratic presidential ideals in 1968 for ABC, and subsequently found themselves in a controversial feud as they became more and more incensed by each other's opinions. With threats of violence and insulting jargon leaving a shocking mark on the legendary televised argument, it became a landmark moment in political media and, indeed, continued - albeit indirectly - with later publications and lawsuits from both parties. While there used to be an element of poise and dignity with political conversation, from this moment, things heated up considerably when it came to fighting about the government.

It's an honour bestowed upon a daughter (or, sometimes, son) of a major Hollywood star, usually if they are achieving success in a similar career of their own. Miss Golden Globe 2015 Greer Grammer has hardly had much camera action in her short term in the spotlight, but her recurring role in MTV comedy drama 'Awkward' and subsequent parts in 'An Evergreen Christmas' and 'Life Partners' this year have clearly got the attention of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.

The Expendables 3 Review

Good

Striking a tone somewhere between the po-faced original and the silly Part 2, this rampaging action nonsense is badly overcrowded and chaotic, but there's plenty of comedy and whizzy stuntwork to keep the audience entertained. It of course helps a lot that the film is packed to the rafters with iconic actors and lively newcomers. And their sassy dialogue helps make up for the idiotic plot.

It opens with a prison break, as Barney (Sylvester Stallone) and his team (Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture and Terry Crews) rescue their old cohort Doc (Wesley Snipes) then head off on a mysterious mission that turns out to involve their presumed-dead nemesis Stonebanks (Mel Gibson), who is targeting Barney's team. So Barney and his pal Bonaparte (Kelsey Grammer) set about finding four new commandoes (Kellan Lutz, Ronda Rousey, Glen Powell and Victor Ortiz) to take on Stonebanks, but of course nothing goes as plan. For the final face-off they're joined by the old team, CIA boss Drummer (Harrison Ford), former colleagues Trench and Yin (Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jet Li), and chatty newcomer Galgo (Antonio Banderas).

The ever-increasing cast means that some characters can't help but be pushed into the shadows (Crews and Li are barely in this film), while others hover around the edges of scenes injecting moments of sarcastic wit. Each of the characters gets his or her moment of eye-popping action, as the film lurches from set-piece to set-piece in a whirl of bombs, bullets and blades. All of this is fun because the actors are gleefully refusing to take any of this seriously. The scene-stealers this time are Gibson, terrific as the swaggering villain, and Banderas, who's hilarious as the only person who can string a sentence together.
