Storks Review

Very Good

There's nothing particularly original about this animated comedy adventure by Nicholas Stoller (Neighbors). It has the standard fast-paced snarky tone and too-frantic imagery, but the script is smarter than average, dropping deranged lines of hilarious dialogue into every scene. This gives the conversations an improvisational quality that keeps the audience laughing all the way through, unsure what might happen next.

It's set 20 years after the storks decided that there wasn't enough money in delivering babies, so they shifted to delivering parcels instead. The boss Hunter (voiced by Kelsey Grammer) is now planning to become board chairman, so he brings in his protege Junior (Andy Samberg) as the new boss. To prove himself, Junior needs to sack Tulip (Katie Crown), an annoying human who was left behind when the old business closed. Unable to do this, Junior transfers her to a back mailroom where no one will notice her, except that she inadvertently fires up the baby factory by answering a request from Nate (Anton Starkman) to bring a brother to his parents (Jennifer Aniston and Ty Burrell). So now Junior and Tulip need to deliver this infant before Hunter finds out.

While the plot is fairly predictable, the way it plays out is riotous. The film is a barrage of random asides, unexpected twists and loveably ridiculous characters. A smarmy corporate spy called Pigeon Toady (Stephen Kramer Glickman) is amusingly smarmy, while a pair of bickering arctic wolves (Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele) add some snarling suspense, even though they're too funny to be scary. Everything is so energetic and colourful that it's difficult to mind that the plot makes very little logical sense. And the loose style of vocal performance gives the whole film a zing of comical anarchy.

Transformers Mark Wahlberg Kelsey Grammer Megan Fox Michael Bay Sandra Bullock

Amongst the praise and back-slapping of awards season, the film industry also shows its less serious side once a year. Just a day ahead of the big Oscars reveal, the Golden Raspberry Awards, a ceremony dedicated to showcasing the very worst of the world of the big screen, has announced its list of nominations, and to nobody’s surprise it’s Transformers: Age of Extinction that leads the field.

The fourth instalment of the hugely successful but critically panned Transformers saga, starring Mark Wahlberg and Megan Fox and directed by Michael Bay, has picked up seven nominations in total. They include worst picture, worst director, worst sequel, worst screenplay, worst screen combo (for any two of the fighting robots), worst supporting actress for Nicola Peltz and worst supporting actor for Kelsey Grammer. The former ‘Frasier’ star was also recognised for his roles in The Expendables 3, Think Like a Man Too and Legends of Oz.

Kelsey Grammer And Martin Lawrence To Star In New Show Green-Lit By FX

Kelsey Grammer Martin Lawrence

FX have green-lit a new comedy series starring Kelsey Grammer and Martin Lawrence, with the network announcing the news of the new series this Wednesday (June 19). The pair will star as two Chicago lawyers who, despite being poles-apart in their personal and professional life, develop the unlikeliest of friendships.

Like the Charlie Sheen series Anger Management and the planned George Lopez sitcom coming to the network soon, the series will follow the 10/90 rule that guarantees a series a 100-episode run, providing the first 10 episodes of the show are a hit. Again, like Anger Management, the series will also be produced at a speedy rate, ensuring the full set of 100 episodes are completed within a relatively short period of time between each other. The network will still air individual seasons at a conventional time, rather than airing all 100 episodes in one push.

The show will mark Lawrence's return to television on a regular basis for for the first time since his sitcom, Martin, ended in 1997. As for Grammer, whose most recent starring role in Staz's Boss has won him much acclaim, it will mark a welcomed return to comedy in general; his last comedic roles coming only briefly during 2012 when he played 'himself' on 30 Rock for two episode and reprised his role as Sideshow Bob on two episodes of The Simpson. Both actors are clearly excited to work with each other as well, with the Grammer and Lawrence each releasing gushing statements about their co-star following the announcement of the new series.

From Psychiatrist To Mayor To Bad Guy – Kesley Grammar Cast As Human Antagonist In Transformers 4

Kelsey Grammer Transformers

Eminently likable – if not a bit fussy – Kesley Grammer strayed far from his real life persona in Frasier, much like he did in Cheers. His latest role, the Grammy award winning turn of Major Tom Kane in Boss, has lead to a major Hollywood role for the outspoken, honey-throated actor.

“We’re going to start off smaller. There’s a brand new cast. To freshen the franchise we’ve redesigned everything from top to bottom,” explains director Michael Bay. “The history of the first three movies is still there, we start four years later and there’s a reason why we’re meeting a new cast.” Transformers 4 takes place four years after the events that shocked the world in Dark of the Moon, but it’s not a reboot as it continues from where the trilogy left off. With Casting for the fourth installment now underway, Grammer is the fifth actor cast in the last few months. The first official word on casting came when Bay revealed that he would be reuniting with star Mark Wahlberg.

The previous movie, Transformers: Dark of the Moon, made over $1 billion at the global box office in 2011, so Bay will have a lot to live up to. Some of the new film - opening in theaters on June 27, 2014 - will be shot using the new IMAX 3D cameras, and we can’t wait.

Frasier Crane...Err, Sorry, Kelsey Grammer Is Transformers 4 Villain

Kelsey Grammer Michael Bay Megan Fox

Is Kelsey Grammer, the actor who played the affable Frasier Crane, set out for a world of villainy? Well, he'll have to start practising pretty soon after landing the role of the lead villain in Michael Bay's fourth Transformers movie. Grammer will play Harold Attinger, a counter intelligence guy, according to Deadline.com.

Though known for his comedy roles, Grammer did impress as the ruthless politician in Boss, winning a Golden Globe before the series was dramatically given the chop. He also played The Beast in X-Men: The Last Stand before moving to UTA a couple of months ago in the hope of landing more feature opportunities. The agency has certainly delivered on their assumed promises and he lines up alongside Mark Wahlberg and Stanley Tucci in the new Transformers flick.

The movie begins production in July, with a script from Ehren Kruger. Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Ian Bryce, Tom DeSanta and Don Murphy are now as producers. The Last Airbender actress Nicola Peltz was cast as the lead actress in the series, following news that Rosie Huntington-Whiteley would not be returning to the franchise. Previously, Megan Fox had held the female lead in the movies, though left after a dispute with Bay. Shortly before production was scheduled to begin on the third instalment, Fox told British magazine Wonderland, "He's [Bay] like Napoleon and he wants to create this insane, infamous madman reputation," she said of Bay. "He wants to be like Hitler on his sets, and he is."

Monsters University Trailer

All Mike Wazowski dreams of is graduating from the prestigious Monsters University and becoming one of the world's best scarers. However, college doesn't go as swimmingly as he'd hoped, especially when he crosses paths with the large, hairy and extremely arrogant James P. 'Sulley' Sullivan who is also majoring in scaring and becomes his roommate. They are constantly attempting to get one up on each other and their competitiveness puts them seriously under threat of getting removed from the University's Scare Program. In order to stay on the course and graduate, they must work as a team in the dangerous Scare Games alongside their not so competent friends, the Oozma Kappa. With Mike and Sulley being total opposites of each other, they each possess what the other is missing which makes them, in theory, the perfect dream team.

Mike and Sulley haven't always been the best of friends that we know they were working at Monsters Inc. When they were amateurs and roommates both majoring in 'scaring' at the Monsters University, there was constant competition between the pair as Mike struggled to keep up with Sulley's natural big, hairy monster persona; Mike and his small physique and rather unscary retainer made him the favourite subject of mockery by Sulley and his friends despite their being in the same fraternity. It soon becomes clear, however, that they are better off together than alone while Mike has the brains and Sulley has the brawn.

Grammer Vs Grammer: Kelsey Grammar's Divorce Finally Settled

Kelsey Grammer Camille Grammer

Almost two and a half years in the making and finally the divorce between Kelsey Grammer and Camille Grammer has been settled, reports TMZ.

Camille filed for divorce back in 2010, and it was finalized early in 2011, however the custody rights and money splitting has taken almost two years to sort out. Apparently their fierce disputes have largely been over their enormous amount of assets- the value of which amounts to $60m. That includes the home they shared together which Kelsey insisted on taking back off the market so that he could live in it- despite the fact that it could have sold for a tidy $15m. They also had two other homes to split, as well as custody for their two children aged 8 and 11.

The split was due to Kelsey having an affair after thirteen years of marriage to Camille. He and Kayte Walsh - the flight attendant that he had the affair with - are now married with one child, with whom he was criticised for taking the new born baby to a Playboy party at Hugh Hefner's mansion; a truly bizarre choice. He and Kayte married the same month that the divorce was finalized.

Kelsey Grammer Denies Failing To Strap Baby, 4 Months, Into Car Seat

Kelsey Grammer Stan Rosenfield

Kelsey Grammer's representative has insisted he strapped his 4-month-old baby into a car seat before he left LAX airport earlier this week. Kelsey and Kayte Grammer's parenting techniques came under scrutiny after photographers snapped the family leaving the airport with baby Faith appearing to be resting on Kayte's lap - a violation of Californian law.

A representative for the actor, 57, tells E! News that the baby was fully belted into a car seat before the family left the airport. "I am not an attorney, so I cannot [comment] on any legal aspect. I just know that the original footage that aired strongly implied that they left the airport without a car seat, which was not the case," said Grammer's rep, Stan Rosenfield. So why was Faith on her mother's lap as Kelsey started up the car? Rosenfield explained, "In an attempt to avoid the paparazzi, they exited through the upper level. Kelsey went back in and got the car seat and met them at the car. Did the car drive a few yards without the car seat? Yes. At no time does the video show them leaving the airport with the baby not in the car seat."

The incident comes just weeks after Grammer took his daughter along to Hugh Hefner's Playboy mansion Halloween party. On that occasion, he explained, "Kayte is breast-feeding and we do not have a nanny or a trusted baby-sitter at this time, so Faith goes everywhere with us. We enjoyed the party with a few of our friends, the baby slept as her ears were covered the entire time and we left shortly after midnight."

Kelsey Grammer Cites Republican Leanings For Boss Cancellation

Kelsey Grammer

Kelsey Grammer has decided that his public political leanings - as a staunch supporter of the Republican party - lead to his Emmy snub and the cancellation of his latest project, Boss, The Daily Mail reports.

"Now explain something to me, you get a Golden Globe for 'Boss,' but you don't even get an Emmy nomination?" Jay Leno asked the Frasier star. "Yeah, its hard to figure," Grammer responded. "It may have to do with several things, honestly, but I think it's possible, I mean, I am a, I'm a declared out of the closet Republican in Hollywood." He then went onto ask a question only to answer it himself, which may give more of an indication as to his recent decline in form. "Do I believe it's possible that some young person, young voting actor, or even older voting member for the Emmys, would sit there and go, 'Yeah, that's a great performance, but oooooh, I just hate everything he stands for?' Grammer queried, before answering sarcastically: "I don't believe that's possible."

Instead of who the show's star votes for, the network decided that low figures were the reason for cancelling Boss. And even though he's an ardent republican, at least he sticks to convictions; he is a an member of the Party and has expressed an interest in politics saying he may someday run for United States Congress.

Did Kelsey Grammer's Love For Romney Get 'The Boss' Cancelled?

Kelsey Grammer Jay Leno

Kelsey Grammer has blamed his Republican political leanings for the cancellation of his acclaimed drama The Boss. The Starz TV network announced yesterday (November 20, 2012) that they would not be continuing the show, in which Kelsey plays the tyrannical Chicago mayor Tom Kane, The Daily Mail has reported.

This isn’t the first time that the former Frasier star has suggested that his support for the Republican party has held him back in the world of TV. Earlier this year, Kelsey was complaining to Jay Leno that his Republican ways were the reason that The Boss hadn’t been nominated for an Emmy. When Leno asked why the show had won a Golden Globe but hadn’t even been nominated for an Emmy, Kelsey replied “Yeah, its hard to figure. It may have to do with several things, honestly, but I think it’s possible, I mean, I am a, I’m a declared out of the closet Republican in Hollywood. Do I believe it’s possible that some young person, young voting actor, or even older voting member for the Emmys, would sit there and go, ‘Yeah, that’s a great performance, but oooooh, I just hate everything he stands for?’” He then answered his own question, with a degree of sarcasm, saying “I don’t believe that’s possible.”

In a statement, Starz said that it was “proud” of the show but had made the “difficult” decision not to continue with another series. Grammer may be citing his love for Romney as the reason behind the show’s cancellation but it’s worth looking at the viewer figures, too. The Boss raked in 659,000 for its premiere and a season peak of 440,000 viewers, Compared to the 1.25 million that Starz’s other major drama, Magic City attracted, it looks as though other factors may also be at play here.

Who Takes A Baby To A Playboy Mansion Party? Well Kelsey Grammer Does

Kelsey Grammer

Who takes a baby to a Playboy party? Well, Kelsey Grammar and his wife Kayte do, apparently.

This tale of unusual parenting has been reported by TMZ, who posted a picture of the three month old baby, Faith, with the rather unnecessary headline ‘Kelsey Grammer’s Baby PASSED OUT at Playboy Mansion Party.’

According to TMZ, Kelsey and Kayte were partying at the Halloween bash, at a table next to Paris Hilton, whilst the baby stayed tucked up in her carry seat. One Playboy Playmate tweeted her dismay at the Grammers’ decision to bring Faith to the bash, saying “Why the fk does Kelsey Grammer have a newborn baby at the Mansion party!?!?!?" The best person to answer that, of course, is Kelsey Grammer. And Kelsey Grammer explained to Digital Spy: “Kayte is breast-feeding and we do not have a nanny or a trusted babysitter at this time, so Faith goes everywhere with us.” Sounds simple, huh? “We enjoyed the party with a few of our friends, the baby slept as her ears were covered the entire time and we left shortly after midnight,” he added. And in fact, when you put it like that, it’s hard to see what the problem is really.

Kelsey Grammer Justifies Taking 3 Month Old Daughter To Playboy Mansion

Kelsey Grammer

Perhaps we should qualify that headline: 'Kesley Grammer tries to justify taking his baby daughter to the playboy mansion' sounds better. Yes, Kesley brought his young daughter to the infamous mansion to hang out with half naked ladies.

Kelsey has had to justify some pretty strange behaviour in his time; most of it from a script as he brilliantly brought the character of Frasier Crane to life, but his personal life is often just as ridiculous. He tried, though, to appease those who think his actions were ill-thought, by saying: "Kayte is breast-feeding and we do not have a nanny or a trusted babysitter at this time, so Faith goes everywhere with us. We enjoyed the party with a few of our friends, the baby slept as her ears were covered the entire time and we left shortly after midnight," in a statement to E! News Tuesday. "We enjoyed the evening. We love our child," Grammer concluded. "Kayte is my wife and lady love (who is 31 and goes by the name Kayte Grammer, by the way, not Walsh). The world is round. All our eyes are blue. Happy Halloween and Cock-a-doodle-doo!"

We don't have babies, but even so, we've come up with a way for Grammer and Kayte to deal with Playboy parties while also having a young child: don't go.

Why Did Kelsey Grammer Walk Out On Piers Morgan?

Kelsey Grammer Piers Morgan Jimmy Fallon

Kelsey Grammer decided, for whatever reason, that he didn’t want to be interviewed by Piers Morgan on his CNN show, and deserted the studio before any such thing could happen, reports The Telegraph.

“Kelsey Grammer was supposed to be on my show, but he ran out of the building. Strange,” tweeted the talk show host on Wednesday. The news seems to have offended Morgan, who himself cuts a ‘love or hate’ figure in the U.K. “So, Kelsey Grammer saw a photo of his ex-wife Camille in the open of our show and legged it. Extraordinary. Never had this happen before … I like Kelsey Grammer personally, but this was a shockingly unprofessional thing to do. I wasn’t even going to mention his ex-wife.” Grammer's publicist told The Hollywood Reporter: "Piers needs to take responsibility for what he did to Kelsey. It's called accountability." Seemingly embarrassed, and unable to let it go, Morgan continued to tweet about the Frasier star, saying "Relax Jimmy, unlike my guest Mr Grammer last night, I won't run away." He was referring to his upcoming appearance on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon.

The ex-wife Morgan was joking about may have had something to do with Grammer’s untimely exit (or timely, depending on who you ally with) although nothing has been officially released regarding what was said backstage. Grammer, 57, and Camille divorced last year before he married British flight attendant Kayte Walsh, who is 25 years younger than him.

Professional 'scarers' at Monsters Inc., Mike Wazowski and James P. Sullivan (nicknamed Mike and Sulley) haven't always been so scary. 'Monsters University' tells the story of the duo's time at the University of Fear, about ten years previous, where they took their education in scaring children and often practised on each other with various college pranks that obviously united them in the end.

I Don't Know How She Does It Review

OK
There are plenty of skilled people behind this female-empowerment movie, but the film badly botches its core message. The script may reflect a certain reality about the sexes, but it also misses the point.

In Boston, Kate (Parker) has a loving husband, Richard (Kinnear), and two adorable children. Everyone watches her in wonder as she juggles her responsibilities as a wife, mother and high-powered investment banker. But the constant business trips are taking their toll, especially when she's required to work regularly in New York with investor Jack (Brosnan). It's a struggle, but Kate keeps everything running. The question is whether anyone is actually happy with the situation.

Toy Story 2 [in 3D] Review

Excellent
While this film looks terrific in 3D, it doesn't quite stand up over time.

There's an odd sense of dragging in the middle, and some of the action sequences feel like they never quite crank up to high gear.

On the other hand, the film is a series of gorgeously conceived set pieces and terrific character interaction and, unlike newer films, it's not afraid to get a bit grim. Stinky Pete's character is especially well-realised, right through to the anarchic closing-credit outtakes. As with most good sequels, the secret is to create strong new characters, and Stinky Pete certainly does that. It's also great to have Barbie in this world.

Toy Story 2 Review

Excellent
Previously destined for a straight-to-video release, the Toys are back in the long-awaited sequel to 1995's massively successful Toy Story.

Thank God! Almost as good as the original, Toy Story 2 is an unabashed crowd-pleaser to children and adults. With enough (non-offensive) adult humor and plenty of good-natured kid stuff, this film had our tiny audience in stitches from start to finish.

Animal Farm (1999) Review

Very Good
The dark side of Babe. Impressive attempt at recreating Orwell's classic book for TV, but it's lacking a few components, and has a really abrupt and unfulfilling ending. Keeps your attention for the full two hours, though, and worth a look, especially for Orwell fans who don't mind a little bastardization. Check out also the reissued 1954 version of the film.
