Hugh Hefner's ex-girlfriend opened up about her troubles during a chat with her therapist, which will air on her U.S. show Kendra on Top on Friday (02Oct15).

In the segment, she says, "When I was a teenager, I battled some severe depression. I attempted suicide a couple times. I went to a mental institution... drugs, overdosing, slitting wrists, all that stuff."

Wilkinson goes on to explain many of her issues stem from a bad relationship with her mother.

"I was left on my own," she continues. "I was a young f**king girl. All I wanted was for my mom to say, 'I love you, and I'm here for you'. I never got that."

Wilkinson's life hasn't exactly been easy now she's an adult - last year (14) her marriage to former football star Hank Baskett was tested when it emerged he had cheated on her.
