Oscar-winner Kevin Spacey showed off his pitching skills on Sunday (14Jul13) as he took to the mound for the Baltimore Orioles.
The American Beauty star threw out the ceremonial first pitch before the home team's baseball clash with the visiting Toronto Blue Jays, and took to Twitter.com to post a shot of himself posing nervously in front of the Orioles' championship wall.
Announcing his participation in the Major League Baseball (Mlb) game, Spacey wrote, "Hopefully Its (sic) not the worst pitch ever."
He need not have worried - he threw a 'strike' and won the respect of the baseball stars.
After the game, he tweeted, "Jim Johnson @Orioles signed the ball I threw & gave me one of his gloves! Awesome gift. I threw a strike!"
And his opening pitch gave the home team a little luck - they won the Sunday afternoon game 7-4.
Spacey is in Baltimore, Maryland filming the new season of his hit drama House of Cards, which is shot in and around the city.
