The RACONTEURS, Kid Rock, George Clinton and the AMBOY DUKES were the big winners at the 18th annual Detroit Music Awards in Michigan on Friday night (17Apr09).
Ted Nugent and the Amboy Dukes reunited for the first time in more than 40 years to perform at the Fillmore Detroit event. The group were honoured with the night's Distinguished Achievement Award.
Other winners were the Raconteurs (Outstanding Major Label Album for 2008's Consolers of the Lonely) and Kid Rock (Outstanding National Single for All Summer Long).
Funk icon Clinton took home Outstanding National Small/Independent Label Recording for his George Clinton and the Gangsters of Love, while the Motown: The Complete No. 1's box-set won the Outstanding Anthology/Compilation/Reissue prize.
