It must seem to poor Kim Kardashian like she can’t get anything right! Kardashian has come under fire for donating only 10% of the profits which she rakes in from clothing auctions on auction website eBay to charity. RadarOnline have managed to get their hands on the tax documents from Kim’s November auction, for which she raised money for Life Change Community Church in California. The documents state that Kim donated $19,975 to charity, a pretty meagre sum in the grand scheme of things, considering the mum of one is worth an estimated $40 million.

Kim has hit back at her critics, claiming, ‘I don’t publicize everything I do to help charities and people all over the world...So for people to attack me for giving 10% of my eBay auction sales to the people of the Philippines, that hurts. I do eBay auctions monthly and change the charity or church from time to time. I give 10% of all my earnings to charities, not just these eBay auctions.’

We were pretty impressed to hear that Kim gives 10% of everything she earns to charitable organisations, but compared to some of these celebs she’s still got a long way to go when it comes to charity.

In 2013 DoSomething.org crowned Taylor Swift the most philanthropic star, for the second year in a row. For her 24th birthday Taylor gifted $100,000 to The Nashville Symphony (which was hardly publicised), while Michelle Obama presented her with The Big Help Award in 2012 to celebrate her “dedication to helping others”. She is an avid supporter of arts education, as well as donating large sums to victims of natural disasters, such as the Iowa Flood in 2008 and the Help for Haiti campaign.  Great work, Taylor!

Cheeky chaps One Direction narrowly missed out on the top spot for most philanthropic stars. The five piece group volunteered in Ghana at the beginning of the year to raise money for Comic Relief, while Harry Styles and Liam Payne managed to raise over $800,000 through Prizeo for Trekstock for cancer research.

Beyonce nabbed the number three spot on the DoSomething.org philanthropic celebrity list. In 2012 the Drunk in Love singer donated her song I Was Here, along with it’s music video, to the World Humanitarian Day campaign and has recently been working the Gucci “Chime for Change” campaign to aid female empowerment.

It was tragic when Fast & Furious 7 actor Paul Walker died last November; however, his death managed to raise global awareness to the charities he supported in life. It was a very sad loss, but we’re sure that Paul would be happy to know that the profiles of the charities he worked so hard for in life have been raised.
