Kim Kardashian insists she worked hard for her success.

The 32-year-old reality TV star - who originally shot to fame after her sex tape with singer Ray J was leaked and later released on DVD in 2007 - said she is an astute businesswoman and has worked for half of her life despite growing up in wealthy Beverly Hills, California.

The savvy 'Keeping Up With The Kardashians' star told The Sun newspaper: ''Yes, we are three girls that grew up in Beverly Hills. But people have seen in our show we have all worked hard, really hard, to get to where we are. We all had jobs working in stores since 16.''

Kim - who launched her new affordable clothing collection in British retailer Dorothy Perkins with sister Kourtney, 33, in London yesterday (07.11.12) - also encouraged other people to follow in her entrepreneurial footsteps.

She said: ''I would definitely encourage people to go into business. But they have to make sure it is a business that makes sense. You have to really believe in it, fine-tune it, have the right people, stay committed and go for it.''

Meanwhile Kim recently revealed she would love to meet Duchess Catherine while in the UK.

She told Life & Style magazine: ''We'd love to [see Kate Middleton], are you kidding? We all love her! I'd call her up and ask her to lunch. She's amazing.''
